Lance— Sent an assortment of Acadia Antlers by his Aunt Rose to celebrate his new life — Dad has reported that not only is Lance happily chewing, but he is a big fan of our Moose Dust!!
Lance was a survivor of Michael Vick’s Bad Newz Kennels. He has been at Best Friends Animal Society for the last seven years. While there Lance met many wonderful loving people who helped teach him to trust, love and move forward with his life.
Lance is now in his forever home!
K9 Kota— When we found out about K9 Kota and all he had been through, we sent off an assortment of Acadia Antlers for him and the other K-9’s on the Winchester Police Force. We are happy to report Acadia Antlers has kept Kota busy and content through a long recuperation!!
A Winchester, Va. police dog, recovering from an injury, is gaining support from around the world.
Dakota, or “Kota” as his handler Winchester Police Cpl. Brittney Kotynski-Neer calls him, underwent leg surgery after falling through a crawl space earlier this month. Kotynski-Neer responded to a home burglary and Kota tracked down two suspects in the home’s crawl space which proved too thin for his weight. “We heard a loud crash, which subsequently was him falling through the ceiling,” Kotynski-Neer said. She could hear his painful yelps. “It’s hard … to hear those yelps and not be able to go to them, it’s crazy,” Kotynski-Neer said. Despite his injury, Kota managed to hobble back up the stairs to make sure his handler was alright. “I had turned around and Kota was standing there,” Kotynski-Neer remembered. After Kotynski-Neer and another officer took the suspects into custody, they carried Kota to a police cruiser and drove him to an animal hospital.
K9 Basco— Acadia Antlers has been sending antlers over to K9 Basco and his handler Tony in Afghanistan since early in 2013. I got a note not too long ago from Tony that said “I’m happy to report that my dog K9 Basco, which you guys have sponsored in the past in Afghanistan is retired and I have adopted him. Basco and I were together in Afghanistan for 4 years and now he’s coming home to live out the rest of his life in Sunny San Diego.. Thank you for your continued support to our dog teams that are deployed.”
Acadia Antlers is so proud to continue to keep our military heros busy chewing on our antlers!! Please become a fan of K9 Basco – Retired CWD and welcome him home!! I just got the OFFICIAL WORD BASCO IS ON HIS WAY HOME TODAY!! Congratulations Tony and K9 Basco — we so appreciate your service to our country!!
Our friend Tony Villalobos is FINALLY reunited with K9 Basco – Retired CWD — They served 4 years together in Afghanistan, and it took 6 months, but Tony was able to adopt him and they are together again!!
